Lateral Epicondylitis (Tennis Elbow)

Pain and swelling on the outside of the elbow from overused forearm tendons.

What is it?

This is swelling and pain on the outer part of the elbow. It happens because the tendons that connect your forearm muscles to your elbow get damaged from using them over and over again. This is common in adults and affects men and women equally.

Let’s talk about it

This is a painful condition on the outside of your elbow. It’s like the rope-like parts (tendons) that connect your forearm muscles to your elbow are very tired and swollen from being used too much, like in tennis.

Treatment options

Treatments include wearing a wrist splint or a special band on your forearm. You should also stretch your wrist, massage the area, and use ice for new pain or heat for old pain. It’s also important to reduce activities that involve forceful wrist movements.
